Configuring UMLCAR Java applications for Pentium 4 systems

Background

In support of Macintosh platforms running Mac OS 9 and below, we supply an outdated Java Virtual Machine (JVM) 1.1 for all our software applications. This JVM has a compatibility problem with Pentium 4 processors.

Fix for Pentium 4 systems

1.
Locate LAX configuration file for the application you installed. Refer to the table below for the name of the file.

2.
Open the LAX configuration file in a simple text editor (Notepad will do).
3.
Scroll down to the end of the configuration file and add one line at the end:
lax.nl.java.compiler=off


That should do it.
